About Me

My photo
Back Road Whispers is a fanciful name for just liking to travel the back roads of the world, wondering what whispers are lingering in the weathered buildings, rusty farm equipment and closed and boarded up businesses. I stop when I am able and “photograph the past for the future” so my grandchildren and their grandchildren will see what it was like back in the “good old days” of the 20th and early 21st century. Lately I have been exploring the world listening to whispers from palaces, castles, villages, and museums. The whispers need no interpretation.

Mish Mash Balderdash

Not many words....just a lot a photos, too many to share one at a time.  These are from a trip to Fredericksburg via the LBJ Ranch to pick up my wine club order, a trip to my daughter's in Livingston, and a get out of the house after 40 days and nights of rain to Laguna Gloria and Mayfield Park in Austin.

This guy is made of styrofoam and covered in foil.  Notice the human guy to the left and to the right of him as well as the car...gives you a bit of an idea of how tall he is.

 See the heart???

Very unusual structure....the sign said Paul McCartney 1945
These bits and pieces were part of the statue above.

The peacock posed for pictures, and when one person was through photographing him he would turn towards the next person.

 Notice the tears
